Peer Review
Peer review is universally recognized as the most impartial and effective way to allocate research funds and ensure quality research.
The process is based on the principle that scientific peers are best placed to evaluate the quality and relevance of a research proposal while ensuring that the process of adjudication remains as independent and objective as possible.
The Manitoba Gambling Research Program follows a peer review process designed to ensure the highest standards of excellence and objectivity.
Peer reviewers from Canada and around the world are asked to provide written assessments of proposals, recommendations for funding, and reviews of final research reports. The criteria for assessing proposals are outlined within each of the grant guides.
